Local conditions change the recommendation.

One sample should represent one reasonably uniform area. Lawn and planting-bed areas with different conditions may need separate samples to produce useful results.

Full UF/IFAS Test B service is $25 per sample and includes collection, form preparation, the current laboratory fee, submission, and a basic results walkthrough. Allow roughly one to two weeks total, depending on delivery and laboratory volume.

Common questions

Know what to expect.

What does the $25 soil test include?

It includes representative collection for one defined area, paperwork, laboratory submission, the current lab fee, and a basic explanation of the report.

How long do results take?

UF/IFAS generally reports results several business days after the sample arrives. Shipping and laboratory volume can make the total turnaround approximately one to two weeks.

Will the test identify insects or lawn diseases?

No. A soil fertility test is not a pest, disease, nematode, or contamination diagnosis.
